Who are we?
Hysterical Collective was founded by photographer and activist, Eliza Hatch and queer, non-binary, illustrator Bee Illustrates after making friends on the internet, and then meeting by chance at a creative event. After co-curating their first ever charity exhibition together, they decided to create Hysterical Collective.
After Hysterical's success in 2022, Bee & Eliza decided to set up a collective to promote accessibility and creativity for artists & activists, by putting on feminist exhibitions and charity events for the community.
Hysterical is now a yearly exhibition, series of events and collective focused on raising money for charity and creating inclusive, safe spaces in the art world for women and marginalised creatives.

On March 14th, 2023, Hysterical Collective launched the second instalment of their charity exhibition, Hysterical: A Celebration of Subversive Art at Bermondsey Project Space Gallery. After its successful debut in 2022, the charity group exhibition returned to celebrate the work of women and marginalised genders using their creative practice as a form of protest.
Exhibiting artists included; Ciara Mohan, Maggie Williams, Aashfaria Anwar, Abby Richard, Simone Yasmin, Frannie Wise, Salt & Sister Studio (Halah El-Kholy + Heidi El-Kholy), Laurent Yee, Maddy Page , Fiona Quadri and Creaming Strawberries (Naïstini Valaydon + Coco Warner-Allen).
During It's two-week residency, Hysterical hosted a panel discussion and a series of creative workshops. Including a feminist zine making workshop hosted by Grrrl Zine Fair, and a life drawing class with Body Love Sketch Club, which was supported by Cass Art. The panel was sponsored by social media app ETHOS with speakers; India Ysabel, Essie Dennis, Lucy Dawson and hosted by Bee Illustrates.
Hysterical raised £1k for Glitch & The Outside Project through artist work sales and ticket sales from event, and crowdfunded £1.7k to cover the costs of the exhibition. Hysterical 2023 press features include; Dazed, Bricks Magazine, Pink News, London Live News, Creative Boom, Creative Lives in Progress and was reviewed by The Evening Standard.
